Ate here for lunch and dinner last weekLunch - good, light sandwiches. Kettle chips only. No French fries was a bummer. Lost a star for that misstep.Dinner - had the 16oz prime rib special, along with a 16oz ribeye. Amazing! Cheesecake is incredibly good, too!

My wife and I enjoyed a great meal in Excelsior springs Missouri today at the Ventana. No waiting for a table is always a plus . We sat in the main dining area a large room with brick walls and what could be the orginal tin ceiling or beautifully restored. Very cool atmosphere. I enjoyed a Reuben sandwich while my wife had the philly. The best service added to the positive experience. Easy parking and prices. We didn't know when we stopped at the bakery next door that it is part of the restaurant don't miss it as it might be the best part!

I wanted to snap my fingers in approval when I walked in...cool old building with a modern decor. The food and service were excellent.

Incredible food and service!

Quaint, casual restaurant to have lunch or dinner with your friends or family. Lots of choices on the menu - all are wonderful. Reasonably priced. The architecture is interesting and they have done a great job with the space.

First time here at this place and the food was phenomenal!! We had the Alfredo with Cajun shrimp my fiancé had the Chicken Parmesan sandwich with Tomato soup that had really good flavor to it! We will definitely be back! The environment inside was so cute an cozy as well!

Absolutely delicious burgundy steak, never overcooked, spot on med-rare. Over years they have been absolutely consistent. Must have GREAT owners that train train train staff. We happily drive 47 min one way from Blue Springs for a great meal. Our boys love all their pasta dishes.

We've been in Ventana only a couple of times but we've had really good food, good service and have been happy with the amount of food for the price. It's a good place to eat and if you go away hungry it's your own fault.

This restaurant is absolutely one of the best restaurants in the region. Anytime I come to this place I am incredibly happy. They preserve their very high standard service and the topmost level of dishes they provide. You are always happy with this restaurant. Warmly recommended.

Eaten here on multiple occasions, all their food is good! love their lobster bisque and roast beef!

It is a great old building. Beautiful hardwood floors. Very friendly staff. I was with a large party and I believe everybody enjoyed their food. The kids receive their food first, which I thought was an excellent idea. The roast beef and the smothered chicken are excellent. I can say that for sure. I dinged them one star mostly because we never got our aujus sauce with the prime rib. Asked twice. I don't live nearby otherwise I would say I plan to go back. If I lived in the area I would go back for sure.

I left them a review under my prior email, but then I got locked out of that email. So here I go again... I love this place! We come here often and always enjoy great food and great service. This is truly a gem in our town.

Really enjoyed the alfredo sauce tonight. My husband had Tuscan pasta and it was good but has just tomatoes not sun tried tomatoes. Definitely glad we went. Took the cheesecake to go and while it was small it was also very good.

There were 9 of us on a Monday evening just a hour till closing. Everything ordered was fresh and quality. My sister's favorite is the smothered Chicken Breast, with mushrooms on a bed of mashed potatoes, my husband had a KC Strip, cooked to perfection, I had the wine glazed pork chop, it was fantastic, the pork chop was thick and juicy, and probably the best I have ever had. My grandson is five, got a cheese pizza and fruit and ate very well. There were no complaints from the table, just happy clean plates and full bellies.

Amazing food, amazing location, amazing ambiance, and superb service. Visited Ventana with some friends and it was a quieter Thursday evening but I was blown away by how cozy it felt inside. Food choices were excellent and well prepared. Service was beyond amazing and so polite. I would Highly recommend this place to anyone.

Awesome food and service

Very cool building to have a nice lunch in. I had the sugar burger and a nice cold Mike Strawberry Lemonade. While the burger was delicious, it is exactly what it says, sugar. Although it was almost too sweet, I'd order it again. Our server was wonderful and other workers also stopped and said hello and made sure we were happy. If you are in Excelsior Springs, you have to eat there at least once. Would love to go back and try the dinner menu.

Ventana is the perfect place for a romantic dinner or a lunch out with the girls. Their original dishes are never short of delicious. Love that the restaurant is owned by sisters, Wendy and Jill, too! Remember that they have a separate room that can be reserved for meetings and parties!

My favorite restaurant! The best chicken alfredo in the world!

We had a wonderful dinner with friends. The setting is quaint and clean. Service was friendly and attentive. The food was amazing. We started with the smoked chicken dip and Thai salad with the Long Island peach tea and razztini martini. Followed with the soup special - lobster bisque. Our entrees were the Tuscany pasta and the prime rib. Wow! It was amazing and rivalled any gourmet restaurant in Kansas City. I highly recommend. We look forward to going back.

We have never ever had a bad experience here. The food is delightful and the desserts are amazing...it’s our favorite place to come to! We have been visiting for quite some time!

Delicious homemade gormet meals. Freshly made daily cheesecakes are to die for!

Food was amazing, it took a really long time to get it and it took fifteen minutes to get our drink order. I understand that it’s busy, however if she had said hey I’m super busy I’ll be with you when I can that would’ve been awesome. When we were sat she walked by us several times and never said a word and we watched her talk with other servers and the hostess for quite awhile. We had to finally ask for a server and she finally came over, after that though she was friendly and attentive. Alfredo was absolutely delicious and the shrimp cocktail was amazing. Also the cheesecake, you’re not living until you have some of their’s. Glad we came in and we will definitely be back.

Ventana Gourmet Grill is a wonderful treasure tucked away in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. My wife and I visited for dinner and were very pleased with the quality of service and friendly staff. I even appreciated our server seeing I was drinking my soda quick, brought be a larger cup.My wife got the Waldorf Chicken Salad. She found it to be good, but not great. Flavor wasn't as strong as she was hoping, but the bread was a good selection, but overpowered the flavor of the salad, we believe an additional scoop would fix that.Based on a recommendation, I went with the Burger served Sugar style. HOLY COW...a burger between two Belgian waffles, it was dinner and dessert in one. I should not have finished the entire entree, it was so filling, but there was no way I would leave a ounce of it behind. I would highly recommend it to anyone.If you are looking for a great getaway dinner, even if you live outside of Excelsior Springs, it's worth the trip there.

Fridays potato soup alone is worth it and then a well cooked burger to go with it. Yes please!! Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a delightful meal likely you will not be disappointed.

We always enjoy eating here. The food is really good, the staff is nice, and I love the old building and location. The Italian Butter and all of the desserts are amazing! The only negative in my opinion is that it costs a bit more than I like to spend at comparable restaurants.

Love the atmosphere in this restaurant. I love it because it's a local family owned restaurant. The food is fresh and good. My husband gets the sugar burger. He says it's the best burger ever. Be prepared if you get the lasagna. The piece is big enough to feed two people. I have always had excellent service here.

Such Great Service! Love the food. Tuscany with Spinach Ravioli is my favorite. Husband LOVES the Scampi. Never have had a bad meal here. This is our Go To when Company in from out of town.

Very good food. I've eaten dinner here a couple of times and the food was very good. Staff is always friendly. Also, love having lunch here. A sandwich with soup is one of my favorites. Great place to have a working lunch.

Great food, beautiful old building!

Google has the wrong hours posted. So we took it upon ourselves to call them and found out they were open till 9 to 9:30 They took our reservations over the phone and got us in as soon as we arrive. The server was very prompt and on top of drink order and then we order food and the food took way to long. We had to ask the server where Is our food a couple times and the first we asked her said it maybe a while. So we asked a couple minutes last and not long after she brought us our food. We though the food was definitely worth the wait..

This place was simply a gem. The service was friendly and prompt. I had a rib eye steak, it was tender and cooked just as ordered. My wife had salmon and it too was well prepared. The salads are fantastic. BE SURE TO SAVE ROOM FOR BREAD PUDDING DESSERT! The best bread Pudding we have ever had!!! (Insider note...they have an adjacent bakery....they know know how to make great breeds and pastries) I highly recommend!!!

Stopped in during 2019 Chocolate Tour. Impressive selection of items on their menu. Or waitress was extremely pleasant and helpful. She accommodated some substitutions without any problems. The environment was nice. The main room only had table seating, no booths (if that is an issue with your needs). Our food arrived quickly and exactly as ordered and everything was cooked to perfection. Our only compliant was that the in house music was an odd mixture of modern pop music and some very slow ambient orchestral music that sounded like a movie soundtrack. It became a little distracting at times.

So good!! Great service, food, and drinks! And the cheesecake? The best! We'll definitely be back.

Our waitress was amazing, our food was perfect, vegetarian options, and they made my sandwich into an entree on rice pilaf so I could have it gluten free. The gluten free caramel cheesecake was SO GOOD! The coffee was great, the slaw was fresh, the wine was really good too. Nice looking place, not too noisy. I loved it

Absolutely will be returning here. Super clean and the staff were so nice. I was torn between the Shrimp BLT or the Rueben. Asked the waitress and she ordered for me. Shrimp BLT was amazing! Also had a chocolate Cheese cake with Carmel that beats any ive ever had.
